2nd day on keto- Is keto causing constipation?

2nd day of my keto journey,

Yay!☺

I m still alive , yet have not died due to lack of bread ☺☺

This morning we all neigbours had a late breakfast. We sat in the garden under the trees, cooked tea and all shared our breakfast.

There were lots of wheat   on the table . One lady had some dough fry in the oil. Looked really delicious.There were potato chips. Some  local bread…. Lots  of  sour cherry jams, butter mixed into honey… hımmm dangerously yummy J

I must admit it was very tempting. Some thoughts “forget keto, you start tomorrow again” has passed through my mind a lot.

 

Then I decided to hold on. Sip my tea and keep eating my ketogenic salad L

KETOGENİC SALAD:

Ingredients:

2 leafs of lettuce,

A few leafs of spinach

Olives

A few small slice of cheese

Lots of salt

Olive oil

Also some sort of sauce : I used  apple vinegar

Cut all the greens and add into dish.

Then add olives and cheese slices.

Add oil and salt, vinegar and mix.

 

Of course I m a newbie and not counting much on my macros. If you eat only this salad, its not enough to complete the nutritional amounts that required to take in a day. For example  protein is missing. Fat may not be enough if you do not take additionaly .

On my second day I think I started feeling keto flu a bit.

Keto flu:

There seems some symptoms  for keto flu.

According to the researches, when carbs are decreased under 20grams  in meals, body is feeling deprivation of carbs.

This affect is changing from person to person.

Some people  feel dizzy, shaky, headache and tired . This means body and brain is  trying to adapt its fuel changeJ

How to get rid of  keto flu quickly :

I have read some solutions to get rid of keto flu symptoms a bit.

In the morning I felt a bit shaky and tired. I was not feeling I had energy to  move a  finger. On the other hand I m feeling still full after  14 hours ( had breakfast around 11:00 o clock)

I  added some  salt into water and drank it. This has stopped the shaky and tired feeling. I also need to add some magnesium into my diet. So when I feel  tired, I will take either magnesium pills or  drink some mineral water with lemon and salt.

 

One of the other change in body is told to be constipation

Is keto diet cause constipation?  Is keto diet causing diarrhea?

I think  most of the changes are varying from person to person. Some people are  experiencing it, on the other hand some are having diarrhea. Also this seems a type of adaptation symptom of ketogenic diet.

 

I got diarrhea L   

I will increase  fiber in my dishes and just wait.
